A
wonderful cover with 2 sets of children drawing stamps, defaced neatly with a
nice pictorial first day of issue postmark.
The
designs of these 2 stamps are from the winners of the Christmas Stamps Design
Contest organized by the Royal Mail in June 2013, which was among the school
going children from 4 to 11 years of age.
The
theme the children were given “What does the Christmas season mean to you?”
From
240,000 entries, the 2 winners were selected, the first class stamp was created
by Molly Robson, aged seven, for her painting title "Santa" and winning the second class stamp design was Rosie Hargreaves, 10, for her painting the “Singing Angels”
Among
the elite judging panel included the winner of 1966 winner of Christmas stamps
design contest Tasveer Shimza, who picked the two winners.
