A lovely cover from Indonesia. Indonesian post issued a nice souvenir sheet and a set of 3 stamps on 22Jan2013 to
mark the Year of the Snake. The sender used the souvenir sheet which was enough postage for Pakistan. The
souvenir sheet is cancelled with the first day pictorial postmark.
The Snake is one of sixth animal sign of the Chinese
Zodiac calendar from the total of 12 different animals.

ALGERIA
The Horned Viper is a venomous snake native to North Africa and parts of Middle East. One of the distinctive characteristics of this snake is the pair of small horns on its triangular shaped head. It can reach upto 85cm in length, diet includes rodents and lizards.

ALGERIA
A nice cover from Algeria with three stamps highlighting the dates of Algeria. These stamps were issued on 8Oct2013 and a complete set has four stamps showing Ghars, Deglet Nour, Delga Beida and Akerbuch varieties of dates, however the sender used three stamps which was enough postage for Pakistan.
A date is the fruit of a date palm. The dates are sweet and delicious, it can be eaten fresh or in a dried form, the dried dates can be stored and consumed all year round. Dates contain numerous essential nutrients which are beneficial for human health.

UNITED KINGDOM
A
wonderful cover with 2 sets of children drawing stamps, defaced neatly with a
nice pictorial first day of issue postmark.
The
designs of these 2 stamps are from the winners of the Christmas Stamps Design
Contest organized by the Royal Mail in June 2013, which was among the school
going children from 4 to 11 years of age.
The
theme the children were given “What does the Christmas season mean to you?”
From
240,000 entries, the 2 winners were selected, the first class stamp was created
by Molly Robson, aged seven, for her painting title "Santa" and winning the second class stamp design was Rosie Hargreaves, 10, for her painting the “Singing Angels”
Among
the elite judging panel included the winner of 1966 winner of Christmas stamps
design contest Tasveer Shimza, who picked the two winners.

TAIWAN
A
nice cover with a souvenir sheet featuring galloping horses. Taiwan post issued a set of 2 stamps and
a souvenir sheet on 02 Dec 2013 to commemorate the Chinese New Year.
The
horse is one of the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac calendar. The year 2014 is the Year of the Horse that interacts
with the five elements wood, metal, fire, water and earth (2014 being the Year
of the Wood Horse).
